ZYE ALX: 755 nm hair removal, built for volume.
High-volume Alexandrite 755 nm platform providers use for laser hair removal and pigmented lesions on lighter skin types (I–IV). Accepts all Etherea handpieces — for licensed providers and practice owners.
- Modality
- Multi-pulse Alexandrite 755 nm, up to 55 J
- Manufacturer
- Vydence Medical. Eventide is a United States distributor, not the manufacturer.
- Regulatory
- No FDA clearance is claimed on this page for the ZYE ALX. Treatments listed describe how licensed providers use the platform, not cleared indications. Verify current regulatory status with the manufacturer before purchase.
- What it costs
- Quoted per configuration — the ALX system plus which handpieces you add. Purchase, lease and rental are all priced in the same quote.
A throughput laser, on a chassis that does more
The argument for the ALX is speed: up to 20 Hz at spots to 24 mm, on skin types I–IV. The argument for the chassis is that the same console takes the whole Etherea handpiece set. Both are worth exactly what your appointment book makes of them.
20 Hz at a 24 mm spot is the whole argument. This is a laser bought by the appointment book.
Practices that book hair removal by the hour
- You run high daily hair-removal volume and are buying throughput: up to 20 Hz with 3–24 mm spots.
- Your patient base sits mostly in Fitzpatrick I–IV, which is the range this platform is positioned for.
- You want pigmented and vascular work on the same console — the 3-24/HR and the small-spot 3-10/VL.
- You already run an Etherea-MX, or expect to grow into one: this chassis takes all eight Etherea handpieces.
What this platform does not settle for you
- No FDA clearance is claimed on this page for the ZYE ALX. Treatments listed describe how licensed providers use the platform, not cleared indications — verify current regulatory status with the manufacturer before purchase.
- 755 nm is the lighter-skin-type wavelength. The answers below send darker skin and deep vascular work to the ZYE YAG's 1,064 nm, not here.
- Contact comfort costs energy: the sapphire-cooled 8-18/HR peaks at 80 J/cm² where the air-cooled 3-24/HR reaches 475 J/cm².
- Two pulse regimes ship on this platform, DYNAMICS® and LongPulse®. The continuous-wave Intense® mode described on this page is the ZYE YAG's.
Inside its lane it is unusually direct: 755 nm, two pulse regimes, and up to 475 J/cm² from the air-cooled handpiece — a practice that knows which skin types it treats gets very little standing between it and the work.
Four questions worth asking us
- What does the manufacturer say about this platform's current regulatory status for the treatments I intend to bill?
- What does the base ALX system cost against the configuration with the handpieces I actually need?
- What do the manufacturer's two-year warranty terms cover, and what does service cost once they end?
- What does adding Etherea handpieces in year two cost against adding them to this quote?
Why 755 nm is the hair-removal wavelength
Alexandrite at 755 nm sits where melanin absorption is high — which is exactly why it is fast on lighter skin types and why parameters and cooling matter as skin type darkens. At 755 nm melanin absorbs strongly relative to surrounding tissue, so the follicle heats faster than the skin around it; that is the efficiency advantage over longer wavelengths on Fitzpatrick I–IV. Larger spots scatter less and penetrate deeper, but only if the platform can put enough energy behind them, and the ZYE ALX delivers up to 55 J so the fluence holds up at spot sizes to 24 mm.
Two pulse philosophies share one box: DYNAMICS® mode stacks fast, low-fluence passes up to 20 Hz, and LongPulse® mode delivers single high-fluence pulses up to 3 Hz with widths from 0.3 to 300 ms. Three fiber-guided handpieces are exclusive to the ZYE chassis; the eight Etherea-MX handpieces are fully compatible on top, so the same capital covers hair removal plus pigment, vascular, resurfacing and tightening.

The published and documented record
Sources are the manufacturer's product literature, clinical casebook and published practitioner commentary, reproduced here so you can evaluate the platform before you buy.
| Source | What it says | What it does not establish |
|---|---|---|
| This page's regulatory position | No FDA clearance is claimed on this page for the ZYE ALX. Treatments listed describe how licensed providers use the platform, not cleared indications. Verify current regulatory status with the manufacturer before purchase. | Claiming no clearance is not the same as establishing that none exists. This page states nothing about the platform's current US regulatory status in either direction — only the manufacturer can, and you should ask before you buy. |
| Vydence clinical casebook | A published casebook records treatment parameters (wavelength, spot, fluence, pulse width, session count) contributed by named physicians including Valeria Campos MD, Alexandre Filippo MD, Guilherme Bueno MD and Juliana Dantas MD. | A casebook is documented practice, not a controlled trial. It reports the parameters clinicians used, not comparative efficacy, and nothing in it is identified here as a ZYE ALX result. |
| International KOL commentary | Neil Sadick MD, Maurice Adatto MD, Hugues Cartier MD, Christine Dierickx MD and Stephen Eubanks MD have published commentary on the platform, with the ProDeep® 1,340 nm handpiece repeatedly singled out as the differentiator. | Practitioner commentary is expert opinion. It is not a clinical endpoint, and it is not evidence of a cleared indication for this or any platform. |
| Installed base | The manufacturer reports more than 3,000 platforms placed across 30+ countries, with a two-year comprehensive warranty. | Placement volume is a commercial figure, not a safety or efficacy one, and this page does not break the number down by platform. Warranty terms are current at the date of the quote. |
Treatments listed describe how licensed providers use the platform, not cleared indications. Nothing here claims a result for any patient. What it does give you is a plainly stated position — no clearance claimed, no indication implied — so whatever you build on this platform starts from solid ground instead of from a footnote.
Capital equipment is a relationship, not a transaction
A laser that sits idle loses money. The support around the device is what turns capital into revenue — handled by the same team that sources your pharmacy and biologics.
a laser that sits idle loses money, so I sell the onboarding as hard as the console.
- Price and financing
- Platforms like this do not carry a sticker price. Configuration, applicators, training and term all move the number, so the question that actually matters is the monthly. Most device financing here lands near $2,500 per month, pending configuration, credit approval, rates and terms. Tell us which treatments you want on the menu and we work the number back from the revenue they carry. Weighing the options? Read Buy vs. lease your first laser.
- Installation and site prep
- Voltage, footprint, and installation handled — full-range 110–220V platforms fit most rooms. Site prep, voltage and footprint checks are handled before delivery.
- Clinical training
- Hands-on protocols and KOL-backed education so staff are treating confidently from day one.
- Warranty and service
- Warranty and service terms are set by the manufacturer and vary by platform — the current terms are included in every quote. Every ZYE quote includes the two-year warranty terms the manufacturer offers alongside the purchase, lease and rental paths. Eventide remains your single point of contact after installation.
- Upgrade path
- Start with a base platform and add handpieces or modules as the practice expands, instead of buying a second console.
- Who it is sold to
- This is a business-to-business page. ZYE ALX is sold to licensed medical providers and the practices they operate, not to consumers, and nothing here is directed at patients. We support clinics in all 50 US states.

How much does a ZYE ALX cost?
Configuration drives the number — the ALX system plus which handpieces you add. Every ZYE quote includes the two-year warranty terms the manufacturer offers alongside the purchase, lease and rental paths. Most practices ask for the monthly rather than the sticker, and device financing here typically lands near $2,500 per month, pending configuration, credit approval, rates and terms.
What is the difference between ZYE ALX and ZYE YAG?
Wavelength and energy. ZYE ALX is a 755 nm alexandrite system with up to 55 J, which is faster on lighter skin types. ZYE YAG is 1,064 nm Nd:YAG with up to 100 J and a continuous-wave Intense® mode, which is the safer route on darker skin and better for deep vascular work. Both chassis take the same shared handpiece set.
What spot sizes does the ZYE ALX support?
The 3-24/HR® handpiece covers round spots from 3 to 24 mm plug-and-play; the 8-18/HR® uses telescopic zoom for square spots from 8 to 18 mm with gold-coated sapphire contact cooling; the 3-10/VL® covers round spots from 3 to 10 mm for vascular and pigmented work.
