How the dual pulse works
XTherma is the first platform to fire high-frequency RF and cryogen in the same pulse. The engineering that makes that possible is what separates it from ordinary monopolar RF.
- Monopolar deep bulk heating
- At 6.78 MHz and 400 W the field passes through the epidermis and deposits energy as bulk heat in deeper tissue, rather than concentrating it at the surface the way lower-frequency contact devices do.
- Uniform impedance, uniform heat
- Thermograms taken immediately, 13 seconds and 25 seconds after a single pulse show heat spreading evenly rather than pooling. Uniform impedance is what makes energy delivery repeatable pulse to pulse.
- Dual pulse: 7 cooling pulses per shot
- Every shot is sequenced pre-cool ×2, RF with cooling ×3, post-cool ×2. Smart Temperature Cooling (S.T.C.) holds the surface stable while the target layer heats — which is why no numbing is required.
